Lovely and soft high paw socks in good fleece quality that provide protection and are at the same time very comfortable to wear.

The socks are sewn with good side seams and a seamless toe section. Perfect for dry conditions to protect the dog's paws on bare ground, ice and rough terrain. The paw socks provide good protection without the dog losing its feeling for the ground. This is important for both balance and movement.

Why high paw socks and double Velcro?

Some dogs get problems with chafing at the claws from “regular” paw socks. This can be avoided by taping the claws. Here is a solution that solves this easily by attaching the bottom Velcro to the “wrist” and the top Velcro to the top of the claw. Double Velcro - twice as secure.

Velcro

Seleverkstedet supplies dog socks without elastic Velcro. This is because we find that dog socks with elastic Velcro are more likely to fall off during use. If they are tightened a little too hard, there is a risk that the elastic Velcro will tighten too much. This can prevent blood circulation in the joint if they are not constantly moving. If it is not tightened so hard, there will always be a little elastic left so that the Velcro can slip over the paw when the dog steps into the snow or kicks hard.

Use of dog socks

Once you have put the sock on, lift the other leg up so that the dog is standing properly on the leg with the sock on – this will make it easier to see if the sock fits. It should not be too tight around the paw, nor should it hang down and sag. Lift the leg with the sock up, tug on the sock and make sure it does not slip over the paw.

Give your socks a longer life

Paw socks are a consumable item, but you can give them a longer shelf life with simple tricks. Long claws wear out paw socks, but can also be harmful to the dog. Keep claws short and file them lightly after claw trimming. Brush the socks free of grit and make sure there is never grit inside the sock.

NB! Once a sock has a hole, it can no longer be used. There is a risk that stones or snow could get inside the sock and cause damage to the dog's paw.
